RE Curriculum

Religious Education is at the heart of the curriculum at St Patrick's and is recognised as a core subject. Through the Diocese of Salford's new Lighting the Path programme, children develop a deep understanding of Scripture, Catholic beliefs, traditions and teachings while growing in their ability to think, question and reflect on the world around them. Lessons are carefully planned to build knowledge and understanding progressively, helping pupils develop the language and confidence to discuss faith, morality and spirituality in meaningful ways.

Our RE lessons encourage children to become thoughtful, reflective and religiously literate young people. Through discussion, scripture study, creative activities, independent learning and opportunities for personal reflection, pupils explore how faith influences everyday life and how Gospel values can guide their decisions and actions. Children are encouraged to ask important questions, consider different viewpoints and make connections between their learning, their own experiences and the wider world.

Religious Education at St Patrick's extends beyond the classroom. Learning is enriched through prayer and liturgy, parish links, Catholic Social Teaching, charity work and opportunities for service within the community. Pupils learn that faith is not only something to study but something to live out through their relationships, their care for others and their commitment to making a positive difference in the world. Through RE, our children are supported in growing spiritually, morally, socially and academically, helping them to live out our values of Love, Faith and Service both in school and beyond
