Faith

At St Patrick's, our faith is central to everything we do and guides us in our relationship with God and each other.

• We aim to keep our Catholic traditions and faith alive.

• We invite families to participate in acts of collective worship and prayer throughout their children's journey in faith.

• We celebrate Mass regularly and mark important seasons and feast days throughout the liturgical year.

• When we celebrate the Sacraments, we are supported by our teachers, catechists, clergy, parish community and religious sisters.

• On Fridays, we abstain from eating meat as an act of reverence and remembrance.

• We create and reflect through prayer, liturgy, assemblies, Masses and Celebrations of the Word.

• We provide quiet and reflective environments where children can pray and encounter God.

• We are proud of our faith, our school and our community.

• We aim to grow in our knowledge and love of God and of one another.

• Our older pupils, including the GIFT Team and RE Prefects, act as role models, helping younger children to live out the Gospel Values.

Service

At St Patrick's, we are called to put our faith into action by serving others and working for the common good.

• We support families through organisations such as Caritas, Fareshare, Wood Street Mission and other health and social care services.

• We support our local community and those in need around the world through our charity work with CAFOD, Caritas and the St Joseph's Penny Appeal.

• Through our Catholic Social Teaching curriculum and Caritas in Action programme, we learn to become Ambassadors for Change.

• Our Junior Leadership Team helps to improve our school through reviewing initiatives, gathering pupil voice and promoting wellbeing and safety.

• We provide opportunities for parents to become involved in their children's learning through Class Dojo, reading activities, homework and classroom events.

• Our curriculum encourages children to recognise their responsibilities towards others and the wider world.

• By understanding rights, responsibilities and the rule of law through a Gospel-centred lens, we develop strong moral character and become active citizens.

• We reflect on teacher feedback and evaluate our work so that we can continue to improve and make a positive contribution to our community.

• Our learning is carefully planned to enable every child to achieve their potential and use their gifts in service of others.
